San Francisco, CA (NationalBlackAgendaOnline.com) A San Francisco Bay Area native and Girl Scout member for over five years, a senior at High School. A honors student, member of the my schools yearbook, nominated by the faculty in my high school to the Link Crew, a leadership program in which upperclassmen help the incoming freshman acclimate into high school life. In addition to school activities, I volunteer my time to help feed and clothes those in need at Dolly’s Closet, the Centerville Presbyterian Church, and the Davis Street organization.
In addition, I invented Snooptunes, a patent-pending technology that allows an unlimited number of people to share music from any type of portable music player (Ipods, MP3s, PSP, DVDs, CD players, etc.). NoeStringAttached is the first device on the market using this technology. I came up with the idea three years ago when I was fourteen and had just gotten an Ipod and wanted to share music with my friends. I found this impossible to do with three or more people without playing my music aloud, which is prohibited at my school. So, I shared my idea with my father who in turn helped me find a local engineer. With his help, I was able to refine the idea and create a tangible product.
Since then, NoeStringAttached has been featured twice in my school newspaper and in over twenty online magazines along with a feature in Girls Scouts Heart of Central California’s quarterly magazine. I have been interviewed by MIT and NBC. I received the most votes for MSNBC’s Best Elevator Pitch of 2006 where I appeared as the youngest participant. My product is also scheduled to be featured on HGTV’s I Want That! Tech Toys. NoeStringAttached is currently for sale online at B&H Photo. It is also available at the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California council store, making it the first electronic gadget to be sold in a Girl Scout Store. I recently received a $40,000. scholarship from McKelvey Foundation for entrepreneurship and was the youngest CEO competitor and finalist in the 2008 Womens 2.0 conference where I competed against 125 other women owned companies.
